Automation and Scaling

Monthly Closing (2023) 

Designed, developed, and implemented an automated SQL-based reconciliation and monthly closing process for a P&C insurer, significantly reducing manual effort, enhancing the accuracy of financial reporting, and shortening the monthly closing cycle by 20%. 

Payment Orchestration (2020/21) 

Redesigned the payment flow for premium collections and claim payouts of a P&C insurer, integrating a payment orchestration platform to streamline and automate the entire collection and disbursement process. Development of a robust & comprehensive end-to-end reconciliation framework facilitating the stability and scalability of the payment process. The successful implementation led to reduced transaction costs, minimized manual effort, and accelerated system updates, enabling faster cash collection. 


Regulatory reporting (2024) 

Fully automated the KPI reporting for monthly financial submissions to the local regulator, as well as the quarterly Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs) for EIOPA (the European regulator), cutting report preparation time by 90%. 

Reinsurance Settlements (2024)

Designed and developed an automated solution for complex reinsurance settlements of a P&C insurer, significantly accelerating the settlement process with reinsurers by improving accuracy and minimizing manual effort. 

MGA Reporting Model (2019/20) 

Designed, developed and implemented a reporting data model for a P&C insurer, tailored to Managing General Agent (MGA) insurance portfolios. While the industry standard is monthly data delivery in varied formats, we transitioned to a highly automated, daily transactional reporting system. By accessing data earlier, trends were identified sooner, significantly enhancing the quality and timeliness of decision-making. 

Leadership and Transformation

Fractional CFO (2024/25)

Overseeing the CFO office for a global wholesaler in the textile industry, with subsidiaries in eight countries across Europe and Asia. Key contributions include, improving the accuracy of the financial reporting, optimizing cash flow management, mitigating foreign exchange exposure, and streamlining operational processes to enhance efficiency and scalability. 

Change & Transformation (2023/24) 

Initiated and supported a comprehensive restructuring project of a P&C insurer, driving its transformation from a top-line growth model to a break-even-focused enterprise. 

Change & Audit Support (2023) 

Initiated and led the complex transition of the functional currency for the Swiss-based holding entity of a major multinational insurance group, shifting from CHF to EUR. This strategic change aligned the entity with the group’s leading currency and mitigated foreign exchange exposure. Despite the novelty of this process (Swiss corporate law reform), successfully collaborated with PwC to ensure compliance, culminating in a successful audit of the transition.
